REQUIREMENTS TO GET MARRIED IN JAMAICA!
Jamaica Couples must be on the island at least 2 business days prior to the ceremony. Documentation needed for U.S. citizens: Certified copy of birth certificate, copy of passport, copy of divorce papers if divorced or death certificate if widowed, and parents legal consent if under 21.

Documentation - Notarized photocopies or certified copies of both birth certificates Copies of photo ID (passport or driver's license) If divorced, notarized photocopy/copies of the final divorce decree(s) If widowed, notarized photocopy/copies of the death certificate for decease spouse Parents written consent if under age 18 A blood test is NOT required!!! Good to know.
All paperwork is handled by the hotel. During the wedding the couple will be required to sign three Marriage Registers, in addition to the signature of their witnesses (two will be provided, in the event the couple does not have their own), and the Ministers signature. The Minister will then give the couple one of the Marriage Registers known as the Bridal copy and the other two will be used to apply for their Marriage Certificate. This is a legal document with a raised seal and the Jamaican Coat of Arms and is legal worldwide. This Certificate takes some time to be processed and will be mailed to the couple. Please provide the wedding coordinator with a proper address to send the document.
So to recap: You will leave the resort with a copy of your marriage license and the official certified copy will be mailed to you in about 8-10 weeks after the wedding. Both the marriage license copy and the official marriage certificate will state your legal name as it is now. You can change your name in your state once you receive the certified marriage certificate after travel. SIMPLE AS THAT!!

BRING ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS with you to the resort.
Weddings can take place at many beautiful locations on the resort grounds and special gazebos and picturesque gardens and of course by the beach.
Wedding ceremonies can be a traditional ceremony performed by a licensed Minister. It includes a legal declaration of your freedom to marry your partner, traditional marriage ceremony questions from the Minister, and a ring exchange section. You may add your own personal vows to the ceremony, (many couples choose to do so), no problem...just provide the wedding coordinator with a copy of them on arrival.
These are the requirements for most weddings in JAMAICA. Each resort has their own rules and they may change frequently. Please contact a destination wedding specialist at First Choice Travel and Cruise to make sure you are getting married at the location you have always dreamed of. First Choice Travel knows the best wedding packages where you can choose according to... your needs!! We would be happy to make some suggestions for you as your travel experts but remember we are not your wedding coordinators. Choose from Symbolic, Legal, Civil, Church Weddings and more...
