Uniworld River Cruise to Bordeaux and Paris Stay by Nikki

This was my first RIVER Cruise and I was both excited and nervous (because the perception of a river cruise being for "older" clients)  I was very pleasantly surprised!

The ship itself was beautiful.  The Bon Voyage has been completely remodeled & even has a small dipping pool to go in along with lots of top deck seating.
The lounge was great and had a very nice bar. Staff was great about coming around to ask if you wanted something to drink.  Alcohol is included in the price of the cruise. We were on the "Brilliant Bordeaux" which really focused on the local wines with meals.
There is also a fitness room and a "wellness" person onboard that offers massages.

ROOMS: The rooms are a bit small but for 2 people, it is just fine.  They split the beds in 2 for us and there was still plenty of room. It was pretty hot so we did spend a little extra time in the room, but I could see where you won't spend a lot of time in the cabin under normal circumstances.
The bathrooms are a bit small (the shower especially) but perfectly fine for what a person needs.  There is a small closet and a safe in each room.
They do give you bath amenities as well. Shampoo & Conditioner in pumps on the wall.

FOOD:  Was amazing!
Breakfast & Lunch were buffet style with a lot of options for each meal.  Quite a bit of options for both.  Breakfast had an omelette station. Lunch had an option to have carved (one day was ribs for example)
Dinner was delicious.  Each course had 3 choices and if you didn't like them, there were "alternative" choices of a chicken, beef or salmon.  I don't think I was ever hungry!
Room Service is also included.  While we didn't do it, a couple of the other agents on the FAM did and said that it was great.

EXCURSIONS: Each day there were at least 2 INCLUDED excursions. They even have "Let's Go" excursions that are for the more active client.
One thing that is new are the Masterpiece Collection excursions.  These are above & beyond the included ones, are special experiences and will have an additional charge.
They are truly unique experiences.  I did one that was a Sunrise Hike of a Sand Dune.  How unique is a sand dune, you may ask? Well this one was a mile high! There were steps to climb it!  It was a bit rainy the day we did it, but it was still a beautiful experience. They also had a day that they did a trip to the Remy Martin distillery and a cooking class.

Gayle & I also did a pre-night in Paris before the cruise.  We stayed at the Pullman Hotel Eiffel Tower.  It was very close to the tower.  The room was very nice with modern feel.  They do have an option to have breakfast added into the room when you make the reservation (which we did) and they had a very nice buffet.

We also did a Food & Wine Walking Tour of Monmarte through one of our vendors.   There were some GREAT tastings (cream puffs, madelines, chocolate, cheese, wine and more) and some very interesting historical facts.  I would describe the walking as "moderate" level. A lot of FUN!!!!

We took the train from Paris to Bordeaux for the Uniworld River Cruise!
